Platelet count of 113 (or 113,000 more properly) is indicative of mild thrombocytopenia. It should be monitored, but physicians generally don't become concerned until platelet counts are much lower.

A platelet count of just 13 is dangerously low. Hemophiliac patients have low platelet counts. It means that you may bleed too much. If you have a platelet count of 50,000 or less, then you need to know what to do if you bleed and what not to do to prevent from bleeding.

Platelets help blood clot, which prevents excessive blood loss (e.g. scabs).

A platlet count of 10 is actually 10,000 platlets. Platlets are the cells responsible for clotting. This is extremely low count and the person would be at risk for bleeding.
