It detects the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas compared to the outside air. Most are made with a closed-end tub of cermic zirconia, the zirconia genreates an electrical signal that is sent to the car's main computer (ECU or ECM). The computer adjusts the amount of fuel injected into the engine based partially on the signal coming from the O2 sensor.
o2 sensor.
Mass air flow sensor, O2 sensor
depends on the kind of car
The bank 2 pre cat O2 sensor is in the rear exhaust manifold, the bank2 post cat O2 sensor is under the car after the catalytic converter, P/S nest to transmission.
It depends on your vehicle. Bank 1 is the O2 sensor on the same side of the car as cylinder number one (or the odd cylinders). Sensor 1 indicates the O2 sensor before the Catalytic Converter.
Should be the rearmost O2 sensor in bank 2. Use a wrench or O2 sensor socket to get it out. Unplug it first from the harness so it doesn't get all twisted and damage the plug on the car's harness.
When an O2 sensor is bad your car will not run efficiently. You will use more gas than you would normally use on a trip.
An O2 sensor is used to check the level oxygen in your blood. On a car it measures the oxygen content of the exhaust to the adjust air/fuel ratio
hai my car is ford fiesta zetec 2003 5door ,in my cay o2 sensor have fault .can you tell me how many o2 sensor are there and were is location
Both o2 sensors are located on catalytic converter. Sensor closest to front of car is upstream sensor. Sensor closest to rr of car is downstream sensor.
Bank 1 on that Town car would be the passenger side of the engine. Bank 1 Sensor 1 would be the first O2 sensor in the passenger side exhaust after the engine but before the catalytic converter.
The O2 sensor is on the top of the exhaust pipe on the passanger side of the car near the junction of the engine and transmission.
