Boosting is purely you and friends cheating to get xp eg setting up an online match on CoD with 12 people all witch you know so you can take it in turns to get lots of kills to go up levels

Boosting is usually when two players in the same game find a good hiding spot and kill each other as many times as possible for headshots or tactical nukes, it is seen as cheating and recentley infinity ward took the game mode 3rd person cage match of the game because to many people were boosting and miss using the mode.
