Carbon dioxide from animal metabolism is again used by plants.

Like plants at night, animal metabolism breaks down the carbohydrates produced by plants, and returns carbon to the atmosphere. The process of decomposition also reverts plant carbon by forming methane and carbon dioxide.

How is carbon transferred through an ecosystem?

Carbon starts off in the atmosphere until plants take it in to mix with water. They do this to make sugar for energy. Animals and humans then eat the plants taking in the carbon that the plants originally took in from the atmosphere. This is how carbon is transferred throughout ecosystems.

No, because man and animals produce carbon dioxide and plants needs carbon dioxide.

How can carbon be passed from plants and animals to human beings?

when plants and animals respire, carbon is returned to the air as carbon dioxide, and humans then beathe in the same carbon dioxide that was placed into the air by the decomposed plants and animals.
