In Biology, I am Pretty sure CNS stands for the central nervous system. the CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord. information about what is happening around you goes to spinal cord and from there that data is transmitted to the brain. once the brain receives this information it analyses it and determines an appropriate response and then transmits that response through your spinal chord to the body part needed for the response to happen.
for example; if someone throws a ball at your face an immediate response from the brain would be to get out of the way or shut your eyes and/or cover your face. Although also stuff like picking up something and throwing it e.c.t. are examples of this.
I hope this helped a bit :)
