Contemptuous isn't in the KJV... but it shows up in the NIV first in Deuteronomy 17:13:

"...All the people will hear and be afraid, and will not be contemptuous again."

The KJV says:

"And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously."

According to the Literal Bible and Strong's Definitions, which says it this way:

"And all the people will hear and fear and not will presume [zuwd: pronounced (zood)] anymore."

It means: "to seethe; figuratively, to be insolent:"

INSOLENT: "disrespectful: showing an aggressive lack of respect in speech and behavior."

SEETHE: "be angry: to be in a state of extreme emotion, especially unexpressed anger."

which the KJV translates in various places as: "be proud, deal proudly...".
