Curley's wife confided in Lennie about her loneliness and frustration with not being able to pursue her dreams and ambitions. She revealed that she dislikes her husband and feels trapped in her marriage.
Curley's wife basically confided the future she would have liked to led, and that she is not happy in an unfulfilling relationship with Curley.
She also states that the reason for her current life is that when she did not receive a letter from 'producer of the movies', out of anger she blamed her mother and hastily rushed into a companionshipt with Lennie.

Lennie leaves Curley's wife in the barn because he accidentally killed her in a fit of panic. He takes the dead puppy to the river because he wants to give it a proper burial, as he doesn't understand the severity of his actions towards the puppy in the same way he does with Curley's wife.
He thinks that Curleys wife is pretty.
