Cerro Grande means large hill in Spanish. That was where the prescribed burn was launched. The burn got out of control because the wind picked up. It spread towards the town of Los Alamos, NM. If you go there you can still see burnt trees in the tops of the mountains. The fire smoke reached the pan handle of Oklahoma. But not the fire thankfully.
