In a bar graph, you may have more than one data point represented by each bar. The interval is the range of values that are included in a bar. For example, consider the following data set: 1 2 3 4 4 5 5 6 6 6 7 7 9 10 13 15 19 21 22 22 24 25 25 25 25

You could make a bar graph by using intervals of 5. So all data points from 1 to 5 would be in the first bar. The second bar would have the data points from 6-10. The third bar would have data points from 11-15, the fourth bar from 16-20, and the fifth bar from 20-25. The heights of the bars would be as follows:

1-5; 7

6-10; 7

11-15; 3

16-20; 1

21-25: 8
