It is there way of communicating. Just like cats. There are lots of different reasons. sometimes if they squeal they are begging for food. And if you have more then one in a cage they will talk to each other often.
Making noise is a way for Guinea Pigs to express themselves. Depending on the noise they could be scared, joyful, nervous, or even aggressive. Knowing which noises mean which can give you a heads up as to what your guinea pig is feeling at the moment. In a way this is essentially their way of talking to you and other guinea pigs.

They are either happy, upset, or annoyed.
not to me A fish is a great class pet. As a preschool teacher, the fish are't distracting like a Guinea Pig. Fish do not make noise very much.
you guys make an answer
Fish make great class pets because they aren't distracting for the students and don't make noise. You can learn a lot from them, about responsibility, animal behavior, and even in science. That or an guinea pig because they are fun but they do make some noise and the students will appreciate a guinea pig more than a fish.
This means a guinea pig is experiencing pleasure, enjoyment, or excitement. You will hear this noise when you pet your guinea pig or feeding it a treat. If you hear this noise suddenly when you are not petting your guinea pig it is afraid or it feels threatened. They purr if they hear a loud noise: a telephone ring or a knock on the door.
you need to give it lots, and LOTS and love and attention. once you play with it or pet it they will start to "purr" which is like their happy noise. - sak :)
This purring noice occurs when you pet a guinea pig too rough, and like you said, when loud noices such as the telephone or the dog barking startle it. It is basically just a noice it makes when it is startled.
cats, dogs, foxes dogs can make friends with guineas if you keep them long enough together while supervising.
Guinea pigs give off a squeaky purr noise when being held or pet. This also happens when they are happy.
No guineau pigs are much larger than hamsters, and have different habits. For example, hamsters are nocturnel and guineau pigs are not. No, they are different.
You can purchase a guinea pig at a pet store or pet shop.
A hamster tbh :D x
there are many diffrent pets but if you want a small tainable pet that doesn't make loud noise you might want a pet rat
