If it is both gold and silver color, the correct answer would be: "it is possible that the 925 is a mark for 92.5% sterling silver and the 14k is referencing the gold color metal made of 14 karat gold. It is uncommon to see both stamps. usually you see a sterling silver piece with plating of 14k over the sterling silver; also called vermeil. I have seen the dual marks myself on a few antique rings.

Have a jeweler check it out... better safe than sorry.
