There are two common paths for suicide, one is a result of problems often causing depression and hopelessness, the other, is a call for help when a helpless, even victimized feeling. In the second case, the person needs help from a situation and deep down realizes suicide is not the only answer. In the first case, it can depend upon how long the situation has existed and even intervention and help may be a temporary stay unless the root problems are dealt with. In both of these paths, there are usually statements or noticaeable signs that help uis needed.
Another path is when someone is more spontaneous, dwelling for a short time on an issue that can lead to aggressive behavior to themselves and to others. This path is not typically talked about and the signs may not be obvious to anyone.
