The IUD is not likely to change the odds of UTI. Talk with your health care provider about possible causes.
My doctor had me on micro bid for 3 years. I when I am done I keep getting echoli but my kidneys keep hurting and he says they are fine, I no they are not. Is there a doctor in fayetteville north Carolina that specialize in kidneys
You can still get pregnant with a UTI. A UTI during pregnancy can raise the risk of preterm labor.
You could be getting a UTI or kidney infection. You should see your Dr ASAP.

+ UTI (urinary tract infection)
I am not a medical doctor, but I can speak from many months of debilitating experience that YES - an IUD can be linked to recurrent UTI's. I had my IUD inserted in January of 2008. Prior to insertion, I had one prior UTI in my entire life. After insertion, I had debilitating UTI's that eventually landed me in a urologist's office. He performed a bladder distention and observed that the damage from my recurrent infections had caused alarming tearing and scarring of the inside of my bladder. I resolved to believe that these infections, which would occur anywhere from every couple of weeks to every couple of months, were a part of my life that I would have to deal with the best that I could. Then, after making the decision to have the IUD removed in June of 2010, I realized that the infections stopped as abruptly as they had started. I stopped taking precautions- the cranberry pills, peeing before and after sex - and I found that the infections still didn't return. I have not had a UTI in SEVEN MONTHS. I feel a sense of immense relief that I cannot even begin to explain. I don't have to be a slave to these awful infections ever again. The only common denominator was the IUD. I don't know if there is some kind of transfer of bacteria (although I don't know how this can occur) or if there is some kind of chemical change going on due to hormonal imbalance caused by the IUD. I just know I will never do IUD ever again. After the next baby, I'm taking my husband straight to surgery for a snip and clip!
It can but the likelyhood is probably very low. You should treat it right away though as UTI's have been linked to miscarriage if left untreated.
