Best Answer

A castrated horse is typically a male horse (Stallion or colt) that has had its reproductive organs (testicles) removed to prevent it from being able to breed.

A castrated horse is called a gelding.
A castrated horse, in male horses would result in them being geldings or unable to reproduce. If you castrate a stallion, you'll have a gelding left. For mares it's just you make them unable to reproduce. Much like a spaying or neutering a cat, except for horses.

Hope this helps (:

Because the natural behaviour pattern for horses is for each stallion to gather a group of females around him, and to fight off any other adult male who gets too close. That's just too awkward for everyday riding and handling, so most stallions gets castrated, which pretty much stops this behaviour.
The two main reasons are (1) to prevent breeding and (2) to calm the animal's temperament.

so you can show it in 4-H or FFA which if you've ever been to your county fair or your state fair you can show it there and when they are castrated they cant breed the ewe's (female)

Castration helps making the male sheep more fleshy.
