As a believer in simplistic dream interpretation, I would say that you miss the person who you were having dinner with. I also believe that because it was dinner with them alone, you probably miss intimacies with them. Obviously, more details would help get more meaning from the dream. Whatever meaning you create from the dream is the meaning of the dream though.

∙ 14y agoIt doesn't matter that the person is dead. Their appearance in your dream means that represent something symbolically to you. Try to think of what they meant or respresent to you personally. What they ate represents what they accepted. So, for example, if this person is a woman who accepted being a servant to her husband, then the dream is about you trying not to follow the same path.

If your mom died recently, it means that your mind is trying to find comfort by bringing her back in the only way it can; by experiencing her presence in dreams. This sort of imagining is common during the grief process. On the other hand, if the dream is calm and peaceful, it means that your mind has accepted the fact that your mother continues to be an important part of your life, but in a different way than before her death.
