I would do as she says. Unfortunately, this may be because she only wants to be friends and doesn't want to hurt your feelings, or it could mean that she is not ready to date; possibly because of a long-term relationship she just got out of. Don't sweat it! There are plenty of other fish in the sea! She doesn't want to hurt your feelings because she obvioudly cares for you as friend. Maybe she doesn't have those sort of feelings for you at the moment, but because she considers you to be nice/intelligent/good looking she hasn't ruled it out. Good Luck!
