∙ 11y agoUnless it's a recurring dream, dreams mean absolutely nothing. Dreams are the mind's way of 'filing away' events, happenings, thoughts, etc., as well as conversations you have, books you read, movies you saw, and other things that happen during the course of the day.
If it's a recurring dream though, it could mean a number of things, such as: you are concerned about your father's safety, possibly due to his work (no matter what line of work he's in), or maybe you feel (even subconsciously) threatened in some way, and not necessarily physically.
You may feel your father's job is in jeopardy, which would threaten the family's financial security, you may feel your parent's marriage is in jeopardy, or even you or one of your siblings may be angry at your dad. But no, that does not mean you would wish for him to be shot. The mind is a strange, complex thing, and to try to define or explain all the mind is capable of is not possible.
But you can give some thought to this, and maybe understand why you had or are having the dream. I think that, once you give it some thought, you may understand the dream better, and once you do, won't have it anymore.
