Question details moved to "discussion" page.
Our ability to remember dreams can be rather flexible. Because dreaming is a function of the unconscious, sleeping mind, the details of dreams are not always availble once the mind shifts from sleep to consciousness. Those dreams that are remembered are not concrete; there is no way to go back and check the details and events that are remembered in dreams. We can think that we remember something from a dream very clearly and specifically, but that is not at all certain.
> In the specific dream described with this question (posted on the "discussion" page) the dream about colored pencils in a certain classroom occurred two full years before the dreamer experienced the "dream come true" in a real-life classroom. The answer is very simple, although it may be unwelcome. The most likely explanation is that the memory of the 6th grade dream was altered by the dreamer's 8th grade experience. Although it feels as if the memory is exactly what was dreamt two years before, that memory is false. If the dream had been recorded in a dream journal immediately after it occurred, it would have very little resemblance to the actual 8th grade classroom.
It really is not possible to venture an answer without more information. It is not clear whether the dream presented images of something expected (or dreaded) in the future, or whether the dreamer has already experienced the fulfillment of something that was seen in a dream that occurred some time ago.
> In the latter case, the question might refer to deja vu, the intense feeling of having been in a situation previously, even though that is impossible. Very often in cases of deja vu, the mind leaps to the conclusion that one has dreamed the event before it took place, while in fact, no such dream ever occurred.
> The best recourse is to keep a dream journal, where one records each night's dreams along with the date of the dream. In this way, one can ascertain whether a dream has actually forecast any future event.
Your sleeping mind naturally sorts through your thoughts, feelings and experiences, storing some in long-term memory and categorizing others. Dreams represent the images triggered by those thoughts and memories.
It is entirely natural to dream about the previous day. Such dreams represent your unconscious mind's function of sorting through your thoughts, experiences and memories while your conscious (waking) mind rests. You might also dream about the previous day because your unconscious mind is working through issues and solving problems the occurred during the day.
As the question is written, it refers to an event that occurred before one dreamed of it. In such a case, the dream means that one was impressed in some way by the event, and the mind is considering the memory of that event during sleep.
... The question might be intended to ask about an event that occurs after one dreams of it. In nearly all cases, the dreamer is experiencing deja vu, the intense feeling that one has seen or experienced something previously, when one knows that is not possible. The feeling is interpreted as the memory of a dream, when no dream actually took place. Researchers have not come to any agreement as to the cause of deja vu.
Having a dream about something that has already happened is completely normal. It means that your brain is trying to sort out a previous situation.
No one knows that answer to that. That happend to me. Well, maybe for example...you did what you did in your dreams was the same thing you do today.
something happened that would forever change your life in 2005 something happened that would forever change your life in 2005
Something that has already happened in time. Such as--> I saw him in the past week.
It more than likely doesn't mean anything; a dream is just a dream. Don't hold your girlfriend accountable for something you dreamed happened.
This dream expresses your guilt feelings, expecting to be caught doing something wrong. Or it might reflect something that recently happened that exposed your transgression.
it is telling you something. de ja vu (you dream that is happened in your real life but really it is in your dreams.)
Like what kind of dream.... do you mean the dream when they sleep?? or something
The present tense expresses something that is happening now whilst the past tense expresses something that has already happened.
The dream seems to be telling you something you already know but have been denying - either your job is very boring, or you have not been getting enough sleep recently.
Your answer is in your question."If the Grim Reaper kills you........""If he kills you, does that mean you are about to die?"No, if he already killed you......you are already dead...so how can you be about to die???????
Open your eyes to what is already in front of you... be cautious not to make a mistake that can otherwise be easily avoided...
This dream suggests that the solution to one problem has become a problem itself.
I Have a Dream means that you wish that something in your world will change and things will be different
