Dreams of being held down often occur just before awakening. There may be a sense of a hostile or threatening presence nearby or a feeling of something sitting on your chest that prevents you from moving. These are examples of "sleep paralysis," a phenomenon that is attributed to a sort of misfire or "hiccup" of the mind. Part of your brain has begun awakening from sleep, but other parts of your brain maintain the light paralysis of your limbs that is a normal function of being asleep. Although the sensation can be upsetting, science regards it as harmless.

When you pass through a certain stage of sleep, your body relaxes to a point at which you actually cannot move. Sometimes a person will be partially awake during this period, and feel that they are paralyzed. It is possible that this is the sensation you are experiencing. It is nothing to fear, only a slight lack of coordination between your sleep state and your conscious state.

This dream suggests that the dreamer is feeling restricted or confined by unidentified forces. For example, the dreamer may be frustrated not to receive promotions at work, and be unable to figure out why. Alternatively, the dream could suggest that the dreamer is experiencing sleep paralysis, in which the mind becomes awake before the natural paralysis of sleep has worn off.

This sounds like "sleep paralysis," a fairly normal phenomenon in which one becomes partly awake while the brain is still partially asleep. While sleeping and dreaming, the brain naturally shuts down most physical movement. This prevents sleepers from jumping out of bed and physically acting out every dream through the night. When the mind begins to awaken while the body is still in the sleep state, one can feel "paralyzed" or as though something is preventing movement. As the brain and body fully awaken the sleep paralysis naturally fades. Please see attached link for more information.

This dream suggests unwanted restriction. The meaning could change depending on the identity of the person holding one down. The context of the dream is also important. For instance, a Wrestling match would be very different from an attack on the street. Very generally, the dream means the dreamer feels severely restricted by someone in real life.

When someone else in your dream shots their wife?

this could mean that you are in the middle of a difficult relationshipA different response:This dream reflects the dreamer's deep feelings, possibly feelings the dreamer is not aware of holding. The "shooting" is a metaphor, and could refer to nothing more than a cutting insult, as in the common expression, "He really shot her down!" More importantly, the "wife" in the dream probably represents part of the dreamer's own self, and it is the dreamer who feels "shot down."> Alternatively, the dream could express the dreamer's anger, and urge to strike out at someone or something represented by the wife.

Of course! You can, by using a dream dictionary, or figuring it out yourself. Write down what happens in your dream or draw a picture of it to help you understand better. A psychic can definitely interpret your dream, not to jump to conclusions or anything lol.
