Its on the left hand side it feels hard on the lower part of thr rib and is a bit sore its hard and has been there for a while now. i know its there all the time
It depends on where exactly, what is the size, what is the consistency and how long it has been there. Is it movable? Is it connected to the bony are of the rib? Is it an all soft tissue?
From the stomach food moves into the small intestine, then into the large intestine. One colon, the ascending colon, sits high under the left ribcage in an half-moon shape; another colon, the descending colon, travels down the left and sits low in the abdomen on the left (left to right). What we eat and drink is liquidfied in the small intestine, then fluids are removed in the large intestine.
As harder waste moves through the ascending colon, it can feel like a "lump" under the ribcage. A person may also feel gassy lower in the abdomen if the waste is having trouble moving through the large intestine. If waste becomes too hard, a person may even feel nauseated as waste continues its journey downward from the area of the ribcage.
Some things can help make waste move easier through the ascending colon. First, be sure to eat fiber type foods. Second, be sure to drink plenty of fluids. Third, be sure to have regular bowel habits. Don't "hold it" for hours or days because that can make the bowel hyperactive. Fourth, if the "lump" is present, lay down in a comfortable place and gently massage and push (gently) from the center of the diaphragm across to the left side; repeat for 15 minutes. This should help peristalsis (the natural movements the intestines make) and help move waste across and down the abdomen. Gentle massage should also help if a person is constipated.
If a lump remains even after a bowel movement has occurred, check with your doctor. It is possible for a tissue injury/strain or sprain to happen, such as in a person who performs strenuous activity. A doctor should be able to identify whether the problem is muscle-tissue related, or intenstinal related.
The first thing I'd expect it to be is an insect sting or bite. It's also possibly a tumor or cyst, but then I need to mention (as everyone worries) that malignant tumors generally don't hurt -- so it's not likely that. Another possibility is an abcess or even a simple bruise or strain. If you're worried, by all means get it checked out, but it's likely not a problem.
For a few years I've had a hard swollen lump on top on my ribs cage directly above my right breast it's painful and recently has gotten bigger and more painful It's not soft it's hard almost like a swollen bone Any idea what it may be?

Th bra may be putting pressure on the lump, which causes the lump to touch a nerve. There is no way to diagnose this condition from this little information. It is best to seek a physician for advice.
It could be a bruise or a harmless fatty tumor. It could also be an enlarged spleen which would indicate a serious problem and be rapidly fatal if ruptured or a cancer. You should see your doctor.
The possible cause for a hard elongated lump on the lower back rib cage is infection. It can also be caused by shingles.

It's because you touch yourself at night!
I currently have a hard small lump under my jawline and i have been to numerous doctors and they have concluded that it is a deposit due to clenching your jaw at night. You will need to get a night guard and wear it at night. IF you do not the lump will continue to get more painful and you will start getting really bad headaches:(
