I would say it is a rare thing called a cyst in which there is a liquid lump or bubble somewhere which gets bigger the more the animal eats or drinks. This happened to one of my hamsters. We put in a needle and tried to suck some out but it didn't help. If this is the case, take your guinea pig to a vet right away. The cyst should fell warm with liquid inside. Also, this could be a birth defect. When you got your guinea pig, I need to know, was the bump there, or did it appear later? If it was always there, it is probably a birth defect, like I mentioned earlier. But if the bump appeared later and looks like it is on the spine, his back may be injured. This could happen from a fall from an elevated object like a table or a chair. Also, your guinea pig's spine could be bent from spinning on a wheel. Wheels are not good for guinea pigs because they hurt and put strain on the backs of guinea pigs. This is coming from an 11 year old, but I know a lot about guinea pigs and hamsters.
on its neck. its a Lipoma, unless iots causing the piggy any pain it dont have to be removed, or it depends on the growth rate. if its a tumor, it may have to be removed aswell, an absess, the same.
an x-ray is a better option, it most likely will cost more, but it will be better and you will find out what it is. an ultrasound may work, you could speak to your veterian about this and come up with a solution. if course all surgery is risky in small animals, especially with anesthesia involved if it has too much it could not wake up, too little and it may feel pain and/or wake up etc... this holds many risks, but if they have delt with piggies before, its likely your guinea pig will be ok.
give your piggy lots of vitamin C as if its a tumor it will slow down the growth slightly, helping your piggy :)
It may be a tick, or just a harmless cartilagenous growth, both of which can easily be removed by a vetinary surgeon.
However, there's a possibility that it may be a tumour, either benign or malignant, so you should get your vet to check it out. Blood tests should reveal whether the lump is a malignant tumour or not- if it's benign, it may not be worth operating on, as it could be that the animal will die naturally of old age before there's a risk of it turning malignant. If it IS malignant, then your vet will advise you what to do.
It means that its back is broken and it will die in 40 minutes
Take it to a vet ASAP!
Take it to the vet
it might mean cancer :(
Well, raccoons get this lump, called a debrah when it is kept in captivity. If you love it, you will set it free and the lump will go away.
Bruises mean that some capillaries broke, and they bled under the skin. The hard lump is most likely from the bleeding. As the bruise fades away, the lump should go away with it.
Take it to a vet.
It might be. Does the lump move around when you touch it, or is it fixed to the bone of the jaw? Regardless, you should get professional help from your dentist or your PCP right away.
sometimes it is but very rerely
A lump under one or both nipples is common in early puberty for both boys and girls. If you are not in puberty, a lump under one nipple deserves a checkup.
It is just a swelling of the tissue beneath the affected area...no worries! It will go away when you're healed.
A lump on the back of your head that is itchy may be from an inset bite. If the lump does not go away, visit a doctor.
it's okay I just read about it its just early signs of breast development
Yes your guinea pig could be pregnant or you could be overfeeding it. Is it exposed to any male guinea pigs? if this continues visit your local vet.
The lump may not have to do with your breast cancer , if you have not bumped your head any where and the lump does not go away with should check the doctors immediately.
It is probably because you have hit your bruise and formed a lump there.
