Labels help categorize your emails. This is not done automatically. You personally have to go into Settings and create labels. You can put emails in categories such as "Work" or "Music Store Related".

1. Login to Gmail.
2. Ensure that you have enabled the Smart Labels feature. (If not, see how to do this here.)
3. In the Gmail navigation bar, click the Gear icon and choose Settings.
4. In the Settings page, click Filters.
