NOx and SOx are the terms used to indicate the general oxides of nitrogen (NO, NO2, N2O2, etc.) and the general oxides of sulfur (SO2, SO3, etc.) when discussing air pollution, rather than specify any one of the family or list them all.

Although rain is slightly acidic naturally from carbon dioxide exposure, acid rain (the very low pH rain) is associated with sulphur and nitrogen oxides dissolving in the rain.
The root word nox- means night. One example of this is equinox.
NOx is shorthand for "oxides of nitrogen", which are largely byproducts of infernal combustion. Inclusive of NO2, N2O, N2O5 and more. Naturally occurring NOx compounds are made high in the atmosphere, in the ozone layer (lower stratosphere), too. Whether or not they remain stable or decay to nitrogen, oxygen and/or ozone depends on how much water vapor is present there. Typically, NOx made up here does also not survive to reach the troposphere, since it is very chemically reactive (much like ozone). At the surface NOx is a product of combustion and can be emitted from internal combustion engines, furnace, boilers and heaters.
NOx is the byproduct of water vapor blocking one path of ozone production. An oxygen atom is temporarily stored in an unstable state on a nitrogen molecule (N2O*). Encountering a water molecule stabilizes the NOx. NOx does not itself decay ozone, but acts as a "getter" for water vapor (further protecting ozone). NOx is like the dead body for a stillborn ozone molecule.
In Tagalog, "nox" is not a recognized word. It may be a misspelling or a word from another language.
