I enjoyed the movie. (J'ai apprécié[e] le film.) However, "I liked the movie" (J'ai aimé[e] le film) is more natural.
A star : "une étoile". Also, the star of a movie is "la vedette" and a movie star in general can be called "une star".
Yes secretariat the movie is out.
For the most part, but as per usual in Hollywood, some pertinent facts were skewed or omitted. Examples: In the movie, the success of Secretariat saves the Meadow Farms horse breeding operation from financial ruin. In reality, the year before, another Meadow Stable runner, Riva Ridge, won the Derby and Belmont to save the farm. Secretariat won horse of the year two years in a row, and the Triple Crown in 1973. But the movie does not mention Riva at all. Frank Martin is portrayed as a loud mouth braggart, when he was in fact a nice fellow, but did back Sham to the max. Lucien Laurin is portrayed as a screwball, wearing pimp clothes, and a failed golfer. Laurin was in fact a conservative dresser, and was an avid fisherman, never played one hole of golf. There was no mention of Penny's sister, Mrs Carmichael, who was very involved in getting the farm back on its feet.
It was actually five different horses that played him. 4 were thoroughbreds and one was a quarter horse called Copper Locks. The two horses that were used mostly were Trolley Boy who won a 2008 Secretariat look a like contest and longshot max
Yes, once. The movie was full of inaccuracies, like omitting Secretariat's stablemate, Riva Ridge, who the year before won the Derby and Belmont, therefore it was he, not Secretariat, that saved Meadow Stable. Also, it shows Lucien being at the birth of Secretariat, he wasn't. Neither was Penny or her son. Overall, however, it was fair, but still a lukewarm tribute to the greatest thoroughbred that ever raced.
No Big Brown is a bay and Secretariat was a red chestnut.
Secretariat was actually played by 5 different horses. 4 thoroughbred and a quarter horse
