It is "Play is Everything" or "Competition is everything" Ludus = Play , as in Ludo, the board game est= Is (common latin) Omnis = Everything ie - Omnibus, shortend to Bus, as in everybodys transport It's also the motto of my local football club, whitley Bay Hope this helps- Cheers ;) I think this means something quite different: "The game (or play) is everything." meaning that it's the game, the process of play (or even playfulness) that matters, not the result. I suppose you could use the word "competition," but that implies that winning and losing matters most, not the playing (or play) itself.

Familla est omis translated to English?

I don't think that omis is indeed a latin word, if it is then I apologize. However, "Familla est omnis," means "Family is everything,". Familia est omnes res OR Familia est omnia would be 'Family is everything.' The singular 'omnis' is not used to mean 'everything.'

What does totus palma est volatilis mean?

It means that automated translation sites produce terrible Latin. This is what a certain popular site comes out with when presented with the English sentence "all glory is fleeting". What it really means is "The entire [masculine] palm [feminine] is fleeting"."All glory is fleeting" would be Omnis Gloria volatilis est or Omnis Gloria fugax est.

What is the Latin word for all?

The word for "all" is omnis, plural omnes.Omnis usually means "each, every" in the singular, but can also mean "all" in such uses as omnis sapientia "all widsom", or Caesar's famous Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres, "All Gaul is divided into three parts."The word totus can be translated "all" when this is understood to mean "the whole; entire".

What does omnis mean in Latin?

How do you say in Latin 'Family should come before everything'?

The phrase "Family is Everything" could be translated, I believe, as "familia omnis est" or "familia est omnis". Take your pick of what you think sounds better :). Family is everything = Familia omnia (est). The proper form of 'omnis' that means 'everything' is 'omnes.' In Latin, it's a plural. The 'est' part (is) may be omitted, and typically was in Latin, although it's not incorrect to include it.

What does the latin phrase 'mors est quies viatoris - finis est omnis labores' thanslate into English?

I think the phrase should end with "...omnis laboris," since "labores" does not make sense. It means "Death is rest for (or "of") the traveler- the end of all labor (which in Latin means both work and distress/hardship)."
