Mad Catz controllers had these buttons programmed into there third party Gamecube Controllers. What it does is allow players to program a turbo option to a certain button like the A button. This would help ease players into playing rapid button mashing games like in Mario Party 5, 6, or 7.
All controllers designed for the GameCube will work with it. Nintendo64 controllers will not.
