In TV and Movie production there is generally a first shot of any sceen taken, normally a wide shot that contains the action of the whole sceen and showing all of the sceen. They use this as a reference and a back-u[ incase they loose a shot in processing and editing.
From there they cut to close ups and durring editing stick it all together
