huge amounts of stress and tension put together theres also slip strike faults reverse faults and most importly normal faults it also causes tsunamis thats when oceanic crust over laps continental crust when continental crust brakes it forces the water high in the air causing a hugely amounts of danger and waves so high and causes flooding! very hazerdous!
This is a question where there is some debate amongst earth scientists. Recent research suggests that it is primarily gravity (due to slab pull and ridge push) that causes plate movements with convection currents within the Earth's mantle being of lesser importance than originally thought.
-Parting plates cause volcanoes because the magma is rising up from the mantle
-colliding plates cause earthquakes because the plates get stuck then masses of amounts of pressure builds up, and it is released, it send from the epicentre to the focus, causing to shake
AND volcanoes because lava bubbles build up inside and have to get out somehow, and they get out by pushing earth, creating a volcano
-sliding plates cause earthquakes because the might get suck and when that pressure is released, it causes an earthquake.

when the earth quake is very strong it will cause a lot of plates to be broken and I may add a lot of cups can be broken this way as well I hope this helped you we are studying about earth quakes in school now so I am pretty sure this is a good answer my moms plates and cups and glass banged about a lot and some where broken very badly but I helped her with some crazy glue (it works)
the magama under the plates are moving causing the plates to move.If you like this answer could you give me some trust points
The movement of the earth's plates causes earthquakes, which cause tsunamis, and volcanoes.
They can cause mountains, earth quakes, erosion, tsunamis, flooding, ect.... depending on the types of movements.
earthquakes and volcanoes
convection
. Formation of oceanic crust
As it has already been explained new crust is formed in zones of spreading. Since this crustal for mation is a continuous process, the new crust pushes the earlier ones from the ridge crest and causes spreading of the lithospheric plate. This process is believed to cause plate motion.
When plate movement causes rocks to break it is call an earthquake.
The constant plate movement
The lithosphere and the asthenosphere.
tsanmi usually caused by plate movement, that cause underground heat, that causes volcanos, that causes tsanmi.
Conventional theory hold that plate movement is due convection currents caused by heat from Earth's interior.
When plate movement causes rocks to break it is call an earthquake.
They cause plate movement. The plate movement then causes an earthquake.
convection currents. Causes the magma to move the earths crust creating plate movement.

the movement in the plate tectonics causes the movement at the bottom of the pacific ocean
plate tecteconics
The constant plate movement
the transform plate movement is when the plates are sliding. this causes earthquakes. imagine one plate then across is another. one moves up and one down sliding.
