Although it is not a law in Ohio it has been recommended that a driver reinspect the school bus if it has been left unattended for 2 hours or more. The original driver does not have to fill out new inspection forms unless they find something wrong with the bus. This is for the safety of the students as well as the driver, encase the school bus may have been tampered with.
Not in NJ, but you get to bypass the regular State inspection line and can go through the shorter reinspection line for this non-emission, "safety" issue if you repair and reinspect within the period they allow.

If I have any doubts about a long gun, I take it to a professional gunsmith, a real one, not some guy that thinks he knows guns, for a complete dis-assembly and inspection. Given a go ahead, I'd still secure it to a spare tire and rim and line and test fire a few rounds down range and then reinspect it. Other than taking them to a gunsmith, I know metals, that is what I do. Never had one blow up on me and that will save your face, literally. Modern loads are higher pressure than older guns can bear. Err on the side of caution!
