The National Football Team, The New Orleans Saints, was founded in 1966. Their name originates from the world famous jazz anthem, " When the Saints Go Marching in;" also, the name of the team was given in recognition of the city's Catholic population. We got the name because we were granted the team on All Saints Day

Who Dat?! is basically a rhetorical question used by New Orleans Saints fans to intimidate the opposing team and their fans.

The whole chant is "Who Dat?! Who Dat?! Who Dat say dey gonna beat dem saints?!" or others say it shortened as "Who Dat?! Who Dat?! Who Dat say gon' beat dem saints?!"

The phrase "Who Dat?!" originated in the south of the US as southern slang. Instead of saying, "Who is that?" or "Who is it?", someone with more of a deep south accent might say, "Who dat?".

It is because of the chant the fans came up with for them. It goes "Who Dat?! Who Dat?! Who Dat say dey gon' beat dem Saints?!". So, naturally people just sometimes call the Saints the "Who Dats" as a nickname. The fans are in turn called "Who Dat Nation" instead of just being called Saints fans all the time.

Hi: This isn't actually Cajun. It is pidgen english for "who is that" or "who are you". Cajun is a slang dialect of Creole, which is a mix of afrikaans, french, and spanish.
