Well, first of all, it is located in the Underworld, so it obviously looks all gloomy. But actually, there is a little tent called the Judgement Pavilion for judgement on if you go to either Fields of Asphodel or Elysium. So think of Elysium, which is where good people spend eternal happiness, and then the total opposite of that, which would be what Fields of Asphodel looks like.
But anyway, these fields are, well, let's just say you would never want to go there. To start off, the sky is all gray and rainy. The people are even worse because they look like they just got out of bed, and they are all ghostly and talk with a raspy voice.
