∙ 11y agoRed was originally the Water extinguisher used for paper card, wood and general materials NOT Liquid fires or electrical. However, The move has been to remove the colour of the container (depending on the country) and replace the extinguisher with silver or all red with a colured sign on the unit depiticing its content I.e. Black sign is CO2 Gas, Cream sign is Foam, Red is water and blue ispowder.
