Throught Tracking is by characters in a play, when they are still in charcter they pause and step out of their character and say how they are feeling, for example you could be smiling in a play but really the character is angry. It helps the audience understand how the character is really feeling.
It is an explorative stratergy and basically thought tracking is where a character speaks out loud their inner most thoughts and feelings

IN DRAMA IT MEANS: when the actor is talking to the audience about what is going on inside their minds at the time of the drama. For example: A family sitting around a dinner table talking, then the drama would freeze and the character staying in role must turn to the audience and tell them what is going on in their minds. Once the character has finished what they had to say, they would go back into the drama piece and finish. OR... The entire family could thought track, which would improve the drama dramatically.
It links to the freeze-frame, it's when within that freeze-frame a character will say something about how they are feeling or what they are thinking. Thought-tracking helps the audience understand how the character is feeling and what their point of view of the situation is.
