winds has a few meanings:

1. it could mean to twist or turn eg. the trail winds up the mountain to the summit OR the batter winds up ready to swing

2. it could refer to more than one wind eg. when the East and South winds blow, it can be dusty and cold

3. it could be the tool used to apply an insulating washer to a bolt or nail ie. get out the winds and pop some windsors (the insulating washer and cap) on these bolts.
