What don't Muslim people eat?

From what I know, Muslims don't eat pork and any kind of birds of prey like the vulture or crow. The reason is back in the days people used to die from eating pork because of the tape worm that infested pigs, which we all know to be a very dirty animal. Even though the risk is minimal nowadays the rule still holds. As for the Birds of Prey they will eat dead animals and the like and it is forbidden for Muslims to eat their meat because it is termed 'haram'. However, in the case a Muslim is faced with the choice of death or eating any of the above mentioned meat, he/she must eat to stay alive because to commit suicide is also forbiding. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are heavenly religions, believing in Oneness of Almighty God (Allah in Arabic). God has imposed certain restrictions on them in matter of food. The Jews and the Muslims share certain restrictions. The Muslims are not permitted to eat pork, running blood, dead animals, beats of prey (lions, wolves, dogs etc.), birds of prey (all clawed birds who eat flesh of other birds and animals), all animals though Halal (lawful), yet not slaughtered properly, any animal which has its head chopped off suddenly, any animal or bird slaughtered to please any deity, pious man, or any angel like being other than Almighty God is unlawful (Haram) in Islam. The Muslims are permitted to eat food cooked by a Christian or a Jew.

Answer Bthe following is forbidden according to Quran teachings and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) saying and practice:

Quran says (meaning English translation):

"Forbidden to you are the flesh of dead animals and blood and the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to any other than Allah, and that which has been killed by strangling or by beating or by falling or by being gored, and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild beast except that which you make lawful by slaughtering (before its death), and that which has been sacrificed to idols...."

(Quran, chapter 5, Verse 3)

Prophet Mohamed (peace be on him) states also that:

"forbade the eating of any wild animals with a canine tooth and of any bird with talons."

"Wild animals" denotes those which prey on others and devour them by tearing them apart, e.g., the lion, leopard, wolf, and the like; birds with talons such as the hawk, eagle, falcon, etc., do the same.

It is worthy to mention also that Gelatin made from pork is also forbidden.

Intoxicants (eg alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, ...) are also forbidden

Smoking is considered also forbidden as currently assured that smoking is harmful to health and Quran commands us not to harm our health.

All animals mentioned above that are forbidden in Islam are also forbidden in Judaism.

From the above, it is clear that what is forbidden to eat, except in cases of severe hunger, are mainly dead animals, pork, blood, and what is not slaughtered under name of God.

Alcohol and other intoxicants are also forbidden in Islam.
