Andy uses "C&C" drums
They use the most common five-piece band setup. 2 electric guitars, 1 bass guitar, a drum kit and you can count vocals as an instrument if you really want to.
Any song witch has drumming in it will use a snare drum. it is one of if not the most important drum on the kit.
You could, but they are pretty cheap. They are plastic, so a different sound may come out.
just in the family of percussion i will have to say the drum kit: the drum kit is not just one drum and (cymbals) but more, and you use all 4 limbs plus not only do you have to have 4 way limb cordnation, but work with each limb by itself, working each limb indepentantly and on top of that a drum kit player (or percussion) has to keep a steay rhythm or beat/pulse
timpani originated from military drums. they are the only type of drum that produce a deffinate different tone depending on the tightness of the "drumhead" or skin. it was originally made from plastic and calfskin but is now made from fibreglass and plastic..

a pearl
To play it with a full drum kit! The bass drum is the backbone of any rock beat. Be sure to use it wisely!
Origins of the pieces from the drum kit itself originate from Africa ~200 BC up till the 1500s in Europe, but the actual unification and use of the drum kit was first used in America, by the black slaves in the 1800s.
