Tonsils tend to harbor bacteria and other organisms and are usually linked with the adenoids. When either one, or both, are removed, people have reported that they don't snore as loudly and get a better night's rest. They have also reported that they don't become ill as often. Immediately after the tonsils are removed, there is expected bleeding that will occur. If you lay on your side, the bleeding will not trickle down your throat and cause possible clotting or drainage to the stomach.
I've had both of my tonsils taken out when ever i was younger, so i think i know pretty well. from everything that i can remember... nothing really happens. the down side to everything is that you throw up... a lot. but you get to eat ice cream. for me, it was hard to eat. i don't know what its like for everyone else though. but once you are fully healed, its not much different then having tonsils in.
hope that helped (:
Sore throat, dizziness, headache, stuffy nose, very painful to swallow anything. You are supposed to only drink or eat very soft drinks. Seek medical attention right away, and last of all you should talk to your pediatrician to have a date so that you can have your tonsils removed.
I had my tonsils out 5 days ago, and so far it's been really really painful. You have a really dull pain in your ears all the time, which is hard to cope with without pain killers. DO NOT take aspirin. I discovered this when it made my throat bleed. It's difficult to even drink, let alone eat. I would recommend dissolveable tablets as I find normal tablets difficult to swallow. Take pain killers before you go to bed. The worst thing is waking up in pain in the middle of the night. I would only recommend having a tonsillectomy, if your tonsilitis is very regular and is affecting you in school, college, your job etc. If i had the choice now i would definitely say no to a tonsillectomy.
Removing your tonsils help air go into your body more easily and is a safe procedure to go through. If you have problems with breathing having your tonsils removed helps. Getting tonsils removed is safe and the only downside is that you will not be able to scream in a high ptched voice and will not be a ble to keep a note, not be able to sing very well anymore.

Both the tonsils are removed during tonsillectomy
No, getting your tonsils removed is not dangerous. All your tonsils do is help with your immunity, if you get them removed it will not be a big deal. Hope this helped:)
