Tephra Jets -

A tephra jet occurs when molten lava hits the water from the ocean, creating an explosion of steam and hardened lava. This occurs when a wave comes in and hits the lava in the tube as it flows to the ocean.

Lithosphere is earths interior, rocks, minerals, landforms and the processes that shape the earths surface so when Mount St. Helen erupted, all the rocks fell, the interior of the earth was recks , minerals aka rocks were recked and landforms were recked .

How do convection currents in the mantle effect lithosphere movement?

Convection currents rotate in the Lithosphere, which causes the surface of the Earth to move.

What is happening to create convection currents in the mantle?

in the asthenosphere, which is in the lower part of the mantle, magma churns in a convection current which is like a cycle. Tectonic plates sit above this movement in the lithosphere. This is what causes continents to move little by little. Hot magma rises and at the lithosphere, it cools and falls because it is now denser. This is like a circular movement, or convection current.

What volcano is located in the middle of the lithosphere?

magma

Is magma molten rock formed in the asthenophere?

No, it is not. It is found in the lithosphere. The lithosphere is between the mantle and the crust.

Which of the following is part of the Earths lithosphere SoilMagma None of these Mantle, magma, and soil Mantle?

magma

What forms lithosphere?

The lithosphere was formed over a vast expanse of time as the outer skin of the earth solidified from magma.

Why is the magma moving under the lithosphere?

Magma moves under the lithosphere because the aesthenosphere (and magma) are ductile - they act as a fluid, although a very viscous one, and they do flow. The viscosity of a magma depends on its mineral composition. Magma will move in convection currents throughout the aesthenosphere due to the heating and cooling of it as it travels throughout the aesthenosphere.

What section of the lithosphere carries the crust?

The crust is actually part of the lithosphere, though it is 'carried' by the magma of the outer mantle.

What is the area where magma is forced up through a crack in the lithosphere?

Volcano.

True or false magma forms in the lithosphere?

False. It forms in the Athenosphere!!

How do you use asthenosphere in a sentence?

The lithosphere is on the top of the mantle. :=]

Do tsunamis effect the lithosphere?
