Boron is the trace element in blue diamonds.
It isn't the element (carbon) that makes a diamond valuable: it's the availability of the diamond allotrope of carbon, and its limited occurrence on earth.
Blue is already a primary color. There are no two colors that can make blue.
Diamonds are composed of carbon.
Diamonds are the crystaline form of Carbon.
unfortunately the only real chemical name for a diamond is Carbon .. makes this tough to send by mail with £2k insurance!
The element is boron.
This element is cobalt.

A diamond is absolutely beautiful, even when in the raw. It is a native Element, and the Element that makes up a mineral diamond is carbon.
Diamonds are a form of crystalline carbon which is an element.
Gem-quality diamonds are coloured by the inclusion of trace minerals within the crystalline composition of the diamond. For example, nitrogen makes diamonds yellow and/or brown; boron gives diamonds a blue hue, and some coloured diamonds acquire their colour based on structural defects.
Blue diamonds are blue due to the inclusion of very trace amounts of boron. Blue diamonds are white diamonds that happened to grow near a source of boron. The boron is included in the diamond crystal and substitutes in a few spots for carbon. Boron has three electrons: carbon has four. When combined, this creates an opening allowing some light energy to be absorbed. Incoming red light is thus filtered out returning a blue color to your eye. The Hope Diamond is the most famous of the blue diamonds. You can read the link, below, to learn more details of how boron makes diamonds (and LED's) blue.
Carbon
There is only ONE element that makes diamonds. It is Carbon. Carbon has THREE(3) allotropes viz., Diamond, Graphite, and Buckminster Fullerene. An ALLOTROPE is were an element exhibits different physical characteristics.
Blue is already a primary color. There are no two colors that can make blue.
diamonds and graphite are the same as they are made of the same element: carbon. what makes them so different in apperance is the different way the carbon atoms are bonded.
Not all. Some can be other colors. But there are blue diamonds
