You usually use a scale...but you have to be precise about which one to use....because there are some that will be very accurate, and others which will count to the nearest hundreth....such as a truck scale, at a weight station .
To find liquid volume, use a graduated cylinder. Remember to look at it from eye level, and to read from the bottom of the meniscus (the little line at the top of the water). You also may want to remember that one millimeter is equal to one cubic centimeter.
To find the volume of a cube, you just need a ruler, meter stick, or something to measure with. Measure the length, width, and height. All you need to do now is to multiply those numbers together. The label is cubic units, or units3.
