The procoptodon was alive during the Pleistocene Epoch (1,600,000 - 40,000 years ago) However some wikipedia sources suggest they were disappearing as early as 50,000 years ago. Some say that they were hunted into extinction by Australian Aborigionals 18,000 years ago. But it is certain that they were alive for most of the Pleistocene. Mesozoic, but this era was divided into three the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
The dinosaurs mainly lived during the Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras. The Mesozoic era was they hey-day of the dinosaurs. However, because birds are dinosaurs and birds still exist, it is fair to say that dinosaurs also live(d) in the Cenozoic. They came into existence in the Mesozoic era though (especially first in the Jurassic Period).
