  • Harry, Ron and Hermione go through the trap door and work through the obstacles. Harry goes on alone asking Hermione to send a message to Dumbledore. Harry manages to keep Quirrel occupied for a while but Dumbledore arrives just in time to save Harry's life.
  • Harry, Ron, Hermione and Neville are given extra house points at the end of the year due to recent events which wins them the house cup.

  • Harry starts Hogwarts, is sorted into Gryffindor house and becomes best friends with Ron Weasley. Later, he also becomes friends with Hermione Granger.
  • Harry, Ron and Hermione discover Fluffy, the three headed dog guarding a trap door. They work to discover what is under the trap door and later learn that Lord Voldemort wants to steal it and return to power.
  • Harry, Ron and Hermione go down the trap door and face a series of challenges to save the Philosopher's Stone.

The climax is when Harry Potter has to fight Professor Quirrell and Lord Voldemort.

Quirrell tries to take the stone from Harry, but suffers severe injuries whenever he touches him. Harry uses this to his advantage by putting his hands on Quirrell's face.

Dumbledore arrived as Harry passed out and managed to save the Stone. Quirrell died of his injuries.
