Before the elucidation of the structure of DNA and the breaking of the genetic code it was only possible to claim common ancestry among living things mathematically and morphologically. Now molecular genetics can show physically that all organisms are related through common ancestry as was predicted by evolutionary theory.

∙ 12y agoGeneticists have studied the genomes of many different species and their studies have shown that the genetic code is very similar in all species, with minor differences. The more closely related different species are, the more similar their genetic codes.
