This is a philosophical question that may seem counter-intuitive at first. Time is a creature, and is fundamentally a measurement between objects. Time therefore can only exist if there is something around to measure in terms of existence relative to something else in existence. Thus, before anything created existed, and therefore before time, there was only now. This is why the metaphysical contemplation of Being, what would be properly be called God by many Theist philosophers, is said to exist always in the present, for God has always existed in the now and continues to see the past, present and future now since He is outside of linear time having never been created.

First of all, which god are you talking about ? There are hundreds, in fact some older religions have thousands for each religion.
God is a great theory, but until it is proven it is just another superstition.
Everyone picks their own god.
If I consider you to be my god does that automatically mean that you created everything ?
I prefer the older flashy religions, bolts of lightning, lots of stars involved for a flashy effect, sun gods are fun and flashy also.
The newer Christian based religions are fun, but are still just a 3000 year old third world superstition, the new guy on the block by any standards.
Man was worshiping the sun about 50,000 years ago. Now that's a well established god there.
Any god will do in a pinch if someone doesn't have an answer for something.
Just like the question: What was before time? ..don't know ? Just say god.
At least 50,000 years ago the sun worshipers could point to the sky for proof.
