Best Answer

first of all, there was a breakdown of the old order of the government as by the 1780s, the french government was nearly bankrupt. their banking system couldn't cope with the fiscal problems so the monarchy had absolutely no choice but to raise the taxes. also many french soldiers that were over in america were impressed by the ideals of the revolution so that idea became very appealing to them. as well as now with all of the taxes being raised, the people began to revolt and then the French Revolution set off. there are more details to it, but thats the basics.
