Standby: you can fly standby on several different airlines for roughly $50-$100 round trip.
FedEx used to offer "Jumpseating" to employees where they would fly on the FedEx planes and sit in one of the 4 extra seats behind the pilot on the cargo plans, however after 9-11 that benefit was no longer being offered.
I had a friend that flew for Mesa. He and his wife and I believe his parents got flight benefits on American West Airlines. They had to fly standby, but they could go whereever America West flew. I think it is US Airways now, so things have probably changed
FedEx employees are eligible for all the following:
Health Insurance, which covers medical, dental and vision
401k plans, and company will match for certain percent
Tuition Reimbursement
Discounted Shipping on all services
Discounts through many other known companies, (i.e. some cell phone providers will offer discounts to fedex employees, and many more)
Trip Reduction for Carpool
Holiday Pay
Paid Vacations
This is just a few of the many benefits workers receive.
If you love to be outdoors and meeting people while delivering parcels then that would be a good reason. You will drive a company owned vehicle and most likely have an established route that you will travel every day.
