If your poodle is a puppy then this might help, it is copied from a book:
"Puppies grow quickly and need 2 and a half times more calories per unit of bodyweight than mature dogs. It's important to give your pup the right food in the correct amounts his tummy is small, so divide his food into small feeds given several times a day.
Your puppy's breeder or vet should give you a diet sheet that covers what food to give, how much, and when. Stick to this for as long as is recommended to avoid your new puppy suffering a digestive upset. He will also need a constant supply of fresh water.
Proprietary brands of puppy food are easy to feed and contain all the nutrients your pet needs some large and giant breeds like Great Danes, need special diets to ensure they don't grow too fast, so some types of puppy food may not be suitable-check with the vvet. Generally, howevere, if you choose a brand name contain minimal artificial ingredients (particularly colorings) you won't go wrong."
If your poodle is an adult select food that will be aproparte for the size of a poodle and follow the guide lines above.
You can also make home food but it is important to get the proporions right so it is best to talk to your vet about it.
Hope this helps
If you have your poodle eating dry hard food then every week or so you can add some soft-canned food to their dish. They will love it! But if you like to give your poodle table food, some chicken or any kind of meat will cheer them up!(Just don't give it to them at the table because they will jump up on the chair and eat your food when you arn't looking once they find out were the food comes from.) And if you leave one of their favorite table fods on the counter or anywere besides the sink, they will get it. Trust me!(Owner of a miniature poodle that can climb anywere. Even the counter!)
Poodles are dogs that range greatly in size; from the large standard poodle, to the smaller toy poodles. Poodles should have a dog food that is healthy, and for the smaller breeds easy to chew.
