A force or pressure that attempts to flatten or squeeze a material. forces acting on the body from all direction (generally all 4 directional sides) which result as the compression in body that type of force is called compressional force
The main difference, I would think, is the application of force. Squashing seems more to be the act of applying force to an object which is against an apparently unmoving object, where squeezing is an act that requires force from all sides (either 2-dimensionally or three).
Applied Force
a force which is applied to an object by a person or another object a force which is applied to an object by a person or another object
changes the motion of the object
extrudes ; to squeeze or force out

In physics, tension is the magnitude of the pulling force exerted by a string, cable, chain, or similar object on another object. It is the opposite of compression. As tension is a force, it is measured in newtons (or sometimes pounds-force) and is always measured parallel to the string on which it applies.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tension_(physics)

A mechanical force that is compressive in nature.
Energy is a force that always attempts to equalise itself e.g if you put a hot object on a cold object the heat will try to spread out between the two. It may also be stored in matter e.g kinetic energy can be stored in a moving object.
Competition is the style of conflict management attempts to force a solution on the other person.

changes the motion of the object
When the only force on an object is the force of gravity,we say that the object is in "free fall".
