They take in the CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) that we breath out and transform it into O (oxygen) that we breath in, so it's really a two way street.

plants are important because they change our co2 into oxygen which helps us breathe. if there were literally NO plants on our planet we wouldn't even be alive.
