Matthew 26:30 tells us that after the passover meal Jesus and his disciples went out to the Mount of Olives. The specific place is named in Matthew 26:36 where it says they went to a place calle Gethsemane. This is also mentioned in Mark 14:32 and Luke 22:39.
When leaving Jerusalem and going east you cross the Kidron Valley and approach the Mount of Olives. At the foot of the Mount of Olives is Gethsemane. This is where Jesus and His disciples came after supper. The exact location of Gethsemane is questioned. The Latin Church claims one spot, the Greeks claim another and a Dr. Thomson says both are wrong and has claimed another spot. All three are within a couple hundred yards of each other.
Mark 14:26 says " And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives". It was at this place that Christ took upon himself the sins of all makind.
